Do you enjoy assisting with events, conducting research, and ensuring visitors feel welcomed and supported?

Are you someone with excellent IT skills?

A great communicator with an eye for detail?

If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Executive Support Volunteers. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing administrative assistance, event coordination, and visitor support. Ideally, you will be able to offer at least six hours per week during the daytime on weekdays.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Chaperoning guests at Police HQ, serving as their initial point of contact, guiding them through the site, and ensuring a warm welcome.
  • Performing administrative tasks associated with event and meeting arrangements, including attendee management, equipment organisation, and hospitality booking, as necessary.
  • Utilising internet-based research to source items and services for ad hoc events, liaising with suppliers and external organisations, as needed.
  • Composing letters, emails, and other correspondence to facilitate the above tasks.

This volunteer position offers a rewarding opportunity to support the executive function at Avon and Somerset Police, gain valuable experience in event coordination, make a positive impact on visitors, and contribute to the success of local initiatives.

As a Police Support Volunteer, Avon and Somerset Police will reimburse you for out-of-pocket expenses that you incur while volunteering for us.

Please don’t assume that we know anything about you!  There is plenty of space to tell us about your knowledge, skills and experience from all areas of your life that relate to being in a Volunteer Role.

Shortlisting and Interview dates to be confirmed.
