Do you have good computer and communication skills?

Could you offer support to Training course Administrators in your spare time?

If the answer is yes, you may wish to apply to become a DVLA Volunteer Test Invigilator for Avon and

Somerset Constabulary.

In order to ensure our police officers and staff have the necessary skills, they have to undertake DVLA tests. These tests are conducted according to strict standards and need to be invigilated. We are looking for a number of volunteers to assist with this invigilation.

In this role you would be working with the Training course Administrators supporting a range of administrative tasks such as:

  • Meet and greet test candidates and escort them to the test room
  • Set up tests on the DVLA computer
  • Invigilate the tests and remain in the room for the duration of the test
  • Provide candidates with the test result and feed this back to the administrator

You will need a good knowledge of computer software. Excellent communication skills is a key requirement for this role as you will need to be able to interact positively with members of the team.

As a DVLA Volunteer Test Invigilator you would have flexibility around how often you wish to volunteer in order to fit in with other commitments.  However, we would hope that volunteers would commit to regular hours/days.
