Finance Officer

In this role, your main responsibilities will be:

• Supporting our Finance Business Partners in the production of accurate and timely management information.
• Maintaining accurate accounting records for the organisation by checking on the reasonableness of transaction coding.
• Produce financial information as directed, undertaking monthly and annual accruals.
• Research and prepare reports and undertake projects.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual budget,   medium term financial plan and the closure of accounts.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

• Demonstrate the core values of Avon and Somerset Constabulary
• Have great communications skills and the ability to work in a team
• Have a positive outlook and a desire to identify and progress improvement
• Have experience of handling and analysing large volumes of data 

You will hold or be working towards AAT / CCAB accounting qualification or be a fully qualified Accounting Technician (or equivalent) with accountancy experience in public finance.

To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 3 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
