Are you ready for a new challenge in providing strategic management support to the Avon and Somerset Criminal Justice Board (ASCJB)?

As a multi-agency role, this is a unique opportunity that allows you to influence the direction of the criminal justice system, in order to improve the service all agencies deliver to those who find themselves a part of it. You will work with partners across all agencies both at a strategic and operational level to support and challenge them, highlight areas for improvement, problem solve, and coordinate change across the Criminal Justice Service.

In this role, your main responsibilities will be:

-        Supporting implementation of a programme of work and managing specific projects and initiatives associated with the business of the ASCJB.

-        Acting as the main point of contact for all enquiries relating to ASCJB, ensuring effective communication between criminal justice agencies and stakeholders, including delivering presentations and chairing meetings as required.

-        Managing research, identifying and making recommendations for improvements in inter-agency processes and procedures using various evaluation methods.

-        Managing the finances held by the ASCJB, including finance reports, projections, raising funds, providing support and advice on funding bids.

-        Managing the business of specific task groups, including the preparation of reports, papers and minutes.

-        Managing and resourcing of additional support staff for specific projects including Welfare, Training and Development.

Skills and experience required: 

-        Computer literate with the ability to use databases and spreadsheets and be able to interpret and analyse complex data.

-        Extensive research skills, gathering information from a range of sources to understand situations and ensuring it is reliable and accurate.

-        Will ideally hold a full current driving licence or be able to travel around the force area using alternative transport.

-        Experience of business planning and project management and experience of implementing change.

-        Experience of communicating at strategic level and maintain a network with key stakeholders.

-        Experience of managing finance and resources to ensure that best value is delivered to key stakeholders.

-        Experience of writing complex reports, policy and project proposals.

To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 3 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
