This is an opportunity to supervise a talented team of officers who are dedicated to protecting vulnerable victims of fraud. By disrupting fraud offences and bringing offenders to justice, the high quality approach of fraud protect and fraud investigative officers really does make a difference and you will provide essential support and leadership to the team.

In this role, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Allocating the investigations, formulating investigation plans and managing the case files for the investigators.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance that will support your team through accreditation and the National Fraud Investigator portfolios.
  • Deciding about finalisation of all allocated fraud investigations, considering out of court disposal and criminal justice system outcomes.
  • Liaising with managers and external agencies to agree joint investigations and safeguarding plans and providing technical and professional advice in relation to fraud.
  • Managing and coordinating our responses to victims of fraud and that deadlines are met.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

  • You must be computer literate and have experience of providing advice and guidance.
  • Be designated as an Investigator under the Police Reform Act 2002 is essential.
  • Knowledge and experience of Fraud investigation.
  • Experience of Safeguarding and working with vulnerable people.
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to work towards and meet deadlines.
  • Proven supervisory Management skills including staff welfare/sickness, development and training needs.
  • Excellent decision making skills and an ability to prioritise your own workload and that of your team.
  • A full current driving licence or be able to travel around the force area using alternative transport.

To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 3 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
