Are you looking for a role where you will be at the forefront of investigating murder and major crime offences.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intelligence Researcher to join the Major Crime Investigation Team based in Gloucestershire. As an Intelligence Researcher in this team you will be at the forefront of the most serious of investigations. The work of the Intelligence Researcher is often pivotal in identifying suspects and bringing those offenders to justice.

Please read on to hear what one of our team members have to say about their role:

“I love my role, I am able to make significant contributions to murder investigations. The research that I conduct can provide the initial breakthrough in an investigation, often identifying the name of a suspect or identifying material which shows an individual’s involvement in the offence we are investigating. I enjoy being part of the investigation from the start to conclusion at court. Due to the significance of the research I conduct often the products produced are used during the trial process. I get a real sense of purpose and satisfaction with knowing that I have played a key part in bringing an offender to justice for one of the most serious offences”

A typical day involves reviewing police and open source systems, liaising with colleagues in Major Crime Investigations, digital data and CCTV departments. Completing research about potential suspects, taking small details and exploring a variety of data sources to expand and put into context for the investigation. Completing applications to both internal and external departments requesting data and then reviewing the data provided. Producing reports, statements and exhibits as required.
