We are a small team of specialist trainers who deliver a wide range of leadership and personal development interventions across the entire organisation. Are you inspirational and focussed with a willingness to contribute to the overall success of the team? We are recruiting two Leadership Trainers to work directly with our Leadership and Diversity Training Manager. 

By developing individuals within Avon & Somerset, we are able to help motivate and improve their performance. Leadership Trainers have wide ranging and varied responsibilities. They assess learning needs, design and deliver leadership and personal development workshops, coach and mentor staff and support other training as required. To be successful in this role, you must be innovative and have exceptional interpersonal skills.  You will be computer literate and able to organise your workload effectively.  

Every person that works for us, is in some way supporting and serving the community we represent. Every day brings you new challenges and decision making. You will be instrumental in playing a key role in training and assessing leaders within the Constabulary.

In this role, your main responsibilities will be:

  • To design and deliver learning and development events and interventions to meet identified training and development needs, including events for external organisations where appropriate.
  • To advise, influence and agree the proposed design, scheduling and implementation of learning interventions with line managers.
  • To review, evaluate and revise training events in conjunction with the Learning and Support Unit, relevant line managers and staff to ensure that events continue to meet identified needs and support force goals.
  • To advise and support other staff who are involved in the training and tutoring of staff.
  • To provide training consultancy, mediation, coaching and 360 degree feedback services at the organisational, departmental, team and individual level.
  • To assess and verify National Vocational Qualification, as required.

 

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

  • Do you possess a training qualification at level 3 or above or can you demonstrate experience of leadership/managing people and are prepared to work towards a level 3 training qualification?
  • Experience of acting as a training consultant / adviser to departmental managers, line managers and project teams? Workplace coaching experience, particularly at line manager level
  • Have you experience of using a blended learning approach when designing and delivering training?
  • Experience of promoting fair working practices in line with equality-related legislation when designing and delivering leadership skills training.
  • Do you hold a full current driving licence and are able to travel around the force area?
