Our in-house recruitment team play an important part in ensuring Avon and Somerset Police continue to deliver an outstanding police service to our communities. We are responsible for recruiting talent into the organisation and providing a professional and efficient recruitment service for our hiring managers.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is looking for their first step into HR or Recruitment, you will receive full training in all our recruitment processes and systems and work alongside an experienced and supportive team.

You’ll be instrumental in ensuring we attract and recruit great candidates to fill a variety of roles, engaging with applicants to advise and support them through their recruitment journey and ensure all the required documents are in place for each new hire.
You may also be required to attend recruitment events, such as Job Fairs, Open Days, Information Events and Assessment Centres, these can sometimes be held outside of your normal hours therefore flexibility in start and finish times would be preferred.
Our office is based at the beautiful Police and Fire Headquarters in Portishead, with free parking and a range of great on-site facilities. However, we work very flexibly and this role can largely be performed from home with the occasional requirement to work with colleagues in the office a few times per month.
What it takes
To be successful in this role you’ll need to be an excellent communicator with a passion for providing first class customer service.
You’ll need to be able to work to deadlines and prioritise your workload as we receive high volumes of applications.
You are likely to have previous experience within a customer service role and thrive in a busy working environment.
However, no experience is necessary and full training will be given, we’re looking for great team players who are willing to learn and grow with us.

This role has been identified as a blended role.
The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work from home whilst also at a secondary work location, which will be a police premises. The successful applicant will have the option to discuss working arrangements with their line manager. All applicants must reside within the UK.
