Administration Officer – Programme Support Team

This is an exciting opportunity to join a vital team within Avon and Somerset Police where you really can make a difference! 

The role:

You will provide administrative support to the Avon and Somerset Local Resilience Forum (ASLRF).  This will include organisation of meetings, collating data and preparation of reports and building relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation and external partners.

This role offers hybrid working, for example, 3 days working from home, 2 days working from the office.

ASLRF is a multi-agency partnership of emergency responders covering the Avon and Somerset area. ASLRF plan and prepare our response for a range of emergencies such as floods, transport accidents, industrial hazards and terrorism and support the communities of Avon and Somerset to plan for and to become more resilient to emergencies.

Main duties:

  • Preparing various correspondence, including presentations on behalf of ASLRF, ensuring they are accurate and well-presented
  • Maintaining files, databases, and records, ensuring information is uploaded to relevant systems
  • Liaising with internal and external staff, responding to communication in a timely manner and arranging appointments as necessary
  • Attending meetings and accurately capturing any actions and decisions made
  • Assisting with the organisation of events, including workshops, training and debriefs, ensuring they run successfully
  • Main point of contact for the ASLRF administration support team, problem solving any queries and escalating where necessary 

You will need:

  • Previous secretarial or administrative experience
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally
  • Strong understanding of all MS Office packages

Blended Working/ Hybrid Working

Avon and Somerset Police encourage flexible working where operationally possible.
This role has been identified as a blended role.
The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work from home whilst also at a secondary work location, which will be a police premises. The successful applicant will have the option to discuss working arrangements with their line manager. All applicants must reside within the UK.
