We are looking for talented Business Analysts who relish the huge sense of purpose that comes with helping us to achieve our vision of becoming an outstanding police service.

Our Business Analysts are members of the Performance and Insight team and are valued for their ability to problem solve through engaging with people and gaining understanding from data. You will have the potential to work effectively on a diverse range of business challenges spanning multiple functions across the constabulary. You will own your objectives whilst being part of a friendly team who regularly ask and receive help from each other.

A typical work package may, for example, look at demand on a team. You may be expected to investigate factors such as variations with time and geographical location. You will apply a variety of techniques to identify improvements to our processes, skills, equipment, digital technology, our bases, collaborations and beyond. Your deliverables will range from identifying opportunities through to full management of requirements to deliver change with clarity and pace.

We are looking for candidates who can understand complex business problems, progress by breaking them down into simple steps and work well with others in order to enable sustained change.
What is equally as important as technical skills, is your approach to your work. You will need to be creative, collaborative, and solution focused in your approach to every problem.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

•    Guiding and supporting business review and re-design.
•    Design and facilitate workshops to bring stakeholders together to problem-solve, identify opportunities for improvement and co-create solutions.
•    Mapping ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ business states, identifying opportunities for improvement, modelling different scenarios and analysing impacts of change.
•    Developing testing and user acceptance plans, understanding and articulating the effect of proposed solutions.
•    Supporting the project/programme team with the creation and maintenance of standard project/programme documentation as required under the direction of the Project/Programme Manager.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

•    Significant experience of business change and organisational development work in a business or public service environment.
•    Experience of business process improvement/re-engineering including analysing and documenting processes using a range of tools and software
•    Expert at working with both quantitative and qualitative data
•    Know how to effectively identify, document and test business requirements
•    Exceptional stakeholder management skills are a must. You will possess the ability to build effective relationships with a balance of listening effectively and delving deeper through thoughtful questioning
•    Skilled in presenting information and data to guide the audience from problem statement through routes to effective decision making. Your range of skills will present data insight in ways that instil confidence in the rigour of your analysis approach whilst providing clear and simple messaging to non-technical audiences alike
•    Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent relevant experience
