We are looking for two skilled administrators to join our Leaning Department as Learning and Development Administrators. We have 2 positions available; 1 full time permanent opportunity and 1 part time fixed term opportunity.

The Learning department within Avon and Somerset Police Headquarters are integral in coordinating, facilitating and delivering training across the whole Constabulary, whether it be for Police Officers, Staff or Volunteers.

As a Training Administrator, you will be providing comprehensive administrative support for the teams across the Learning Department. 

You will be using our Learning Management System and liaising with stakeholders both internal and our students. This is a busy role that requires you to be organised and possess excellent communication skills. 

Main Responsibilities will include:

•    Booking classrooms, trainers and resources in accordance with course programmes.
•    Taking minutes at meetings as required and providing administrative support.
•    Liaising with other forces and external agencies as appropriate in connection with course administration.
•    Maintaining course attendee levels in order to operate within course budgets 
•    Calculating course charges and raise invoice requests as appropriate.
•    Acting as the main point of contact for queries about training courses and co-ordinate the diaries of senior departmental staff.
•    Assisting in the general administrative support to the department.


Skills and Experience required:

•    You must be computer literate, have excellent knowledge of MS packages and good speed and accuracy when typing documents.
•    Excellent organisational skills including maintaining and coordinating diaries. 
•    High level of numeracy skills, including knowledge of processing invoices.
•    You must be able to handle queries from a diverse background of cultures and have excellent communication skills via telephone and face to face.
•    Knowledge of the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship or Policing is desirable, although is not essential.

To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 3 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.

Blended Working/ Hybrid Working

Avon and Somerset Police encourage flexible working where operationally possible.
This role has been identified as a blended role.
The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work from home whilst also at a secondary work location, which will be a police premises. The successful applicant will have the option to discuss working arrangements with their line manager. All applicants must reside within the UK.
