Our Talent Acquisition Team oversees the end to end recruitment journey for applicants looking to join our organisation. We are recruiting for a full time and part time position within our team to join as a Recruitment Assistant (this role is officially known as Talent Acquisition Assistant). 

This is an exciting time to join us, we have recently introduced a candidate management system to make the application process as easy as possible for people to join our organisation.

You’ll be instrumental in ensuring we attract and recruit great candidates to fill a variety of roles in a timely and efficient manner. You will engage with applicants to advise and support them through the recruitment journey.  

As a team we work with a wide range of internal stakeholders including hiring managers and other departments, you will be on hand to provide insight and knowledge to allow us to recruit and fill vacancies as quickly as possible. You may also attend recruitment events, meeting and engaging with the diverse communities we serve as an organisation.

We hold regular pre-recruitment days which you will be supporting, these will include meeting and greeting our candidates, answering questions and escorting them around Police Headquarters for the day.

What it takes

To be successful in this role you’ll need to be an excellent communicator with a great eye for detail. You’ll need to be able to work to deadlines and prioritise your workload because we receive high volumes of applications and need to work efficiently to keep our pipelines moving.

You are likely to have previous experience within a customer service role and be passionate about providing an excellent candidate and stakeholder experience.

Additional information

The full time position is 37 hours per week and the part time position is 16 hours per week.

Blended Working/ Hybrid Working

Avon and Somerset Police encourage flexible working where operationally possible.
This role has been identified as a blended role.
The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work from home whilst also at a secondary work location, which will be a police premises. The successful applicant will have the option to discuss working arrangements with their line manager. All applicants must reside within the UK.
