Are you looking for a new challenge where no two days are the same and you can make a real difference?

We have a full-time position, working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday, within our Service Management Team.

You will provide support to the IT Directorate through close co-ordination of operational processes with the aim of improving delivery of activities and management of risks. This will involve working with our Data Security Officer and other members of Service Management.

We’ll look to you for day-to-day risk support, managing our IT operational risk register, assisting with assessments of risks and developing risk management protocols.

In terms of governance, your role will give you the opportunity to improve the systems, practices, and processes that direct and control the IT Directorate, including identifying and researching issues of compliance, coordinating audit responses and supporting supplier monitoring.

You will have ample opportunity to combine your methodical and analytical abilities with your people-focussed approach in order to assist the Service Management Team to drive forward continuous service improvement within the IT Directorate.

A technical background is not essential. Training will be provided, as required, in order to understand the different business areas and team structures within the IT Directorate. It is more important that you work well within a team and have a willingness to work collaboratively or on your own initiative and to actively look for opportunities to further your role.

In this role your Main responsibilities will be:

  • To co-ordinate management actions and responses to audits, risk registers, strategic and operating plans, improvement plans and departmental returns.
  • Under the direction of the Business Partner – Service ensure that all audit recommendations are fed into any overarching organisational learning and ensure responsible managers provide evidence recommendations have been implemented.
  • Maintaining the IT operational risk register and to ensure escalation of any issues.
  • Supporting supplier monitoring and performance reviews.
  • Liaising with other departments and stakeholders, and to engage with introduction of new technologies both within IT and across the organisation.
  • To identify and research issues of compliance, to resolve and mitigate problems, escalating as required.
  • Assisting with the assessment of product, compliance, or operational risks and developing risk management and monitoring protocols, complies with use of all standard procedures and ITIL processes.
  • Assisting with the maintenance and quality of the IT processes catalogue and ensuring timely reviews are held.
  • Disseminating written policies and procedures related to compliance, governance and risk management activities. You will ensure new starters are aware of activities.
  • Verifying that software, technology and supporting processes are in place to adequately provide oversight and monitoring in all required areas. 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications required:-

  • Experience of working in a mature IT Environment.
  • Experience in relevant technologies.
  • Familiarity and experience of working in a structured project and/or Information Technology Infrastructure Library environment.
  • Experience of developing, monitoring control processes and procedures.
  • Experience of keeping accurate records.
  • Experience of customer service.
  • Understanding of risk management.
