This role is currently eligible for a market supplement in addition to the basic salary to reflect determined market conditions. Eligibility for and value of Market factors are reviewed on an annual basis and are not contractual. It can be confirmed, therefore, that a market supplement rate of up to £7,500 (pro rata) per annum will be payable.

Delivery Manager - Infrastructure - £59,211 (hybrid)

In this role your Main Responsibilities will be:-

  • Shaping, influencing and facilitating technology based change initiatives to drive through the change agenda and digital strategies.
  • Supporting the continued adoption and exploitation of solutions, technology and information along with maintaining an external focus, identifying external topical issues and trends highlighting potential impacts.
  • Proactively undertaking and aligning activities to support the Service Level, Capacity, Availability, IT Service Continuity, Information Security, Change, Release, Configuration, Incident and Problem Management processes in respect of their relevant technical area.
  • Having extensive knowledge of networks, voice, cloud and infrastructure security, databases and storage, backup and virtualisation.
  • Taking ownership of infrastructure problems and working proactively to respond and resolve issues within the organisation and to provide suitable infrastructure solutions whilst working with the architectural team  to create IT solutions that meet the needs of the IT Directorate and organisation.
  • To recommend, design, install, test and deliver service improvements to the network, voice and application infrastructure.
  • Responsibility for managing the technology, awareness of new technologies, making recommendations to select the right technology to enable the IT Directorate and force to consistently move forward.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications required:-

  • Educated to degree level 6 (minimum) by qualification or accredited prior learning or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in relevant technologies.
  • You will have held a management role in a relevant setting of commensurate responsibility.
  • Experience of managing performance and service delivery, organisational development, change and innovation.
  • Experience of accountability for managing budgets and efficient resource utilisation.
  • Experience of creating and developing strong teams and managing remote teams with varying workloads and remit.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, develop and support teams of people and specialist functions.
  • Ability to receive strategic direction and implement it into operational delivery.
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively using different channels and in a variety of situations and settings.
  • Ability to facilitate innovation and change to drive improvement and manage quality assurance and performance.
  • Ability to build and sustain successful working relationships and collaborations.
  • Ability to manage contract delivery, supplier relations, performance and resources effectively.

Desirable:-

  • ITIL Qualification

This post has an on call requirement for which appropriate allowances will be paid.

Please note, the base salary for this role is £51,711 plus a market allowance of £7,500, which is subject to annual review.

Blended Working/ Hybrid Working

Avon and Somerset Police encourage flexible working where operationally possible.
This role has been identified as a blended role.
The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work from home whilst also at a secondary work location, which will be a police premises.
