Supported Employment Traineeship - Expression of Interest

Our Supported Employment Traineeships are available to young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and autism, the programme provides real-life work experience combined with training in employability skills.   We want to support young people to achieve their best adult life whilst positively contributing to the workforce of Avon and Somerset Police.

Programme overview:

Our programme involves periods of skills training and exploring different career options alongside continuous feedback and job coaching.

Throughout the year long programme, trainees will work on employability and functional skills through a series of job rotations. Giving trainees maximum exposure to a variety of activities designed to prepare you for employment.

Participants will attend the programme for a full academic year, at a variety of different Avon and Somerset police locations. Fully supported by a dedicated Job Coach, you will learn the job roles, task-by-task until you can work independently

We want young people with SEND to be inspired and excited about finding their dream job.

Programme requirements:

This programme is open to 18 - 25 years olds with SEND and autism
