Do you have good communication and computer skills?

Do you want to support your local neighbourhood police team in your spare time?

If so, you could apply to become an Engagement Support Volunteer for Avon and Somerset Constabulary. 

As part of our Citizens in Policing Programme the Engagement Support Volunteer will assist our neighbourhood policing teams to develop contact with community groups in the area and assist in the delivery of citizens programme events.

In this volunteering role you will be working with the neighbourhood team to:

  • Provide regular updates to the local community
  • Assist with the delivery of citizens programme events
  • Help develop further contact with different groups in the community
  • Assist with communication through social media

You will need a good knowledge of computer software applications e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and be an effective communicator.

We are hoping to find a volunteer who is able to commit to a minimum of one day a week over an extended period of time. This is due to the need for the volunteer to become familiar with the role.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 3 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
