We’re recruiting for a Partnership Liaison Manager to join the Senior Leadership Team of our Lighthouse Safeguarding Unit which works, in the Police and with partners, to safeguard vulnerable children and adults across the Avon & Somerset Police geographical footprint?

This role requires consistent attendance and engagement with Safeguarding Adult Boards and Safeguarding Children Partnership structures across the Avon & Somerset area.  Relationship building is a key element of this role – both in creating new working interactions and developing those already in existence.  You will already have a strong operational and strategic understanding of multi-agency working practices.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

  • Driving improvements from statutory and non-statutory reviews in order to identify and embed better outcomes for vulnerable people;
  • Leading consistent development of future multi-agency ways of working
  • Supporting organisations to prepare for vulnerability themed inspections, from our inspectorate – HMICFRS, and Joint Targeted Area Inspections.
  • Leading, developing and supporting our Case Conference and Missing Persons teams.
  • Managing and developing projects, incorporating robust performance and outcome frameworks for multi-agency working practices.

We’re really keen to hear from you if you believe that you can bring credibility and influence to discussions with our partners.  Can you work with external partners to recognise and fill gaps in provision? Have you got inspirational leadership skills which will make sure that your team, spread across the region, have got what they need to support interventions for both victims and perpetrators?

Can you bring to the role an understanding of the perspectives of the people we work with? Do you have life or professional experiences that gives you insight into how we can engage with those who need safeguarding more effectively?

We are keen to meet all suitable applicants and we want to ensure that if you belong to a UK ethnic minority, are LGBT+, or have direct experience of what it is like to come from an economically deprived background you know that your application will be welcomed. We want to meet you if you can bring empathy, an ability to manage people well and could foster strong partnerships with those agencies we work with, the Police and Crime Commissioner and the residents of Avon & Somerset.

To be eligible to apply for this role, you must have a 3-year `checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you will have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
