Expression of Interest - SEND Traineeship

Avon and Somerset Police are offering a traineeship to young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and autism, that will provide real-life work experience combined with training in employability skills.   We want to support young people to achieve their best adult life whilst positively contributing to the workforce of Avon and Somerset Police.

Avon and Somerset Police employ over 6000 people across a multitude of different departments and locations.  We offer unique careers where you will be valued, inspired and feel rewarded. We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and our mission is to serve our communities.

Programme overview:

Our programme involves periods of skills training and exploring different career options alongside continuous feedback and job coaching.

Throughout the year long programme, trainees will work on employability and functional skills through a series of three job rotations. Giving trainees maximum exposure to a variety of activities designed to prepare you for employment.

Participants will attend the programme for a full academic year, at a variety of different Avon and Somerset police locations. Fully supported by a dedicated Job Coach, you will learn the job roles, task-by-task until you can work independently

We want young people with SEND to be inspired and excited about finding their dream job.

Traineeships available:

We are offering the opportunity to work alongside Avon and Somerset Police employees in a variety of job roles and departments, giving you hands-on practical experience of working for a police force.
