As a Firearms Trainer, you will undertake research, curriculum design, delivery and assessment of training events and courses both internally and to multi agency partners in accordance with the National Police Firearms Training Curriculum.

Your main duties will be to undertake research and assessment, design and delivery of training events and courses in accordance with National Police Firearms Training Curriculum (NPFTC). You will be responsible for the daily maintenance of all ranges, operational and training equipment including responsibility of reporting any faults with the vehicles and associated equipment.

The post holder must hold a National Police Firearms Training Certificate (within the last 3 years and hold a teaching or training qualification to NVQ Level 3 in Training and Development or equivalent).

You will be expected to obtain an IOSH or equivalent Health and Safety qualification within an 18 month timescale from the point of employment, if not already qualified.

The post holder will also be required to comply with the following:-

•           Annual hearing and eyesight test in line with national standards;

•           ARV qualification standard and the national instructor qualification standard shoots as set by the College of Policing.

•           To achieve and maintain the required level of fitness for the role.

•           Meet the required role profile annually

•           Be operationally deployable to support the Tactical Support Team
